Contact CHOM to schedule your child’s birthday party while also enjoying the museum exhibits.
Effective January 2020,
The party room allows for up to 20 kids at one time. Food that doesn’t require cooking or additional heating may be brought in but must remain in the party room at all times. No food is permitted in or around the museum exhibits.

When: Fridays or Saturdays, 11 AM – 1 PM

FAQ
What is included in the birthday party package?
General admission for up to 20 children, two hours of party room rental, and general use of the museum.
Are chaperones required?
Yes. We do require one adult for every six children in attendance.
Will CHOM staff chaperone children throughout the exhibits?
CHOM staff members are not responsible for supervising children while they are visiting the museum. Please make sure you have a sufficient number of chaperones at your party to aid in supervision.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes! We do not provide catering. We also do not provide the facilities for warming or cooking food, so please bring food that is already prepared and ready to serve. In order to protect our exhibits and make the museum useful for all of our guests, ALL FOOD MUST REMAIN IN THE PARTY ROOM.
Can we decorate for the party?
Absolutely! Feel free to bring paper decorations, photos, or posters. We are sorry, but we cannot allow birthday candles or any other source of open flame. Glitter, confetti, open flames, and un-weighted helium balloons are prohibited to ensure the safety of the Museum’s collection.
Can I arrive early?
Yes! The room will be available 30 minutes prior to the party start time, if you wish to come in and set up the room with decorations.
Am I responsible for set-up and clean-up of the party space?
The room will be available 30 minutes prior to the party start time. Clean-up of the party space will begin 15 minutes following the party end time. You are responsible for placing plates, cups, food, disposable decor, etc in the garbage cans provided.
Can we stay late?
During regular business hours, If you and your guests are staying at the museum, we will provide an area to store coats and gifts until departure. The room will no longer be available 15 minutes following the party end time. Private parties will have a 30 minute setup time prior to the party and an appropriate amount of time for cleanup afterwards. Guests must depart after the 2 hour party window unless previous arrangements have been made.
Am I able to bring outside entertainment?
We’re sorry; clowns, characters/mascots, live animals, and all other outside entertainment are prohibited.
How long can we stay at the museum?
All day! Birthday party rentals give access to the Museum for the entire day, before and after your party time slot. Private birthday parties are restricted to the 2 hour window signed up for unless other arrangements have been made.
Will we have a museum host with us?
A staff member will welcome your group to the Museum and show you where your party room will be located.
